Build technical mastery through intentional practice, strong fundamentals, and applied kitchen experience.
Cook Street has been teaching the classic techniques of cooking and baking for over 25 years. We believe that to be a truly great chef or baker, understanding the "why" behind the methods will serve you in whichever manner you take this education. Science, history, theory, and artistry all play key roles in a successful chef. That is the value culinary school provides.
While this is an intensive education, you will spend hours, days, and sometimes weeks exploring individual methods, applied in different international cuisines to showcase how these methods can be utilized no matter the recipe.

Chef Yna infuses Cook Street’s pastry program with creativity and playfulness, striving to convince every student that pastry isn’t as scary as it sounds. "With Chef Yna as the Pastry Chef Instructor, I learned very quickly that I had just as much curiosity, enthusiasm, and reverence for pastry as I did with savory. Chef Yna’s lessons and demos were fun and engaging, her depth of knowledge and experience are truly remarkable, and her emphasis on fostering creativity and not being afraid of making mistakes throughout the process resonated with me deeply and still does as I continue working in this industry."
